MotherTree of Life – Beaded Mask

This papier mâché face was coated in wax then each micro size 15 bead was applied individually by means of a needle. The “scene” on the face represents a tree of life made of up five parts, with each color representing a skin tone of people on earth. The tree’s trunk is of the darkest hue and contains the third eye,  which represents the original human from which we all of us descended. The chin is in the ocean with jellyfish and fish, while the upper portion of the face is in the sky with neither region superior but all equally important. Head is approximately 3″ deep.
